What does this Mathdoku generator make?
Complete puzzle pages and solution pages for a printed book, from small grids for children to 9 × 9 for experienced solvers.
- Grid sizes from 3 × 3 to 9 × 9
- Operations: + only, + −, + − × or all four, plus an expert mode that hides the operations
- Easy, medium and hard, set by cage size, with an option to get harder through the book
- One, two, four or six puzzles per page, with solutions at the back
How do you know each puzzle has only one solution?
A solver works through every puzzle using the cage totals and the row and column rule, without trial and error. Cages are changed until that logic fills every square, so the puzzle has exactly one solution. Our tests confirm it with a separate brute-force counter.
How do you play Mathdoku?
Fill a grid of size N with the numbers 1 to N so that no number repeats in a row or column. The numbers in each outlined cage must make the target with the operation shown; − and ÷ cages have two squares, in either order.
Can I sell Mathdoku books made with it?
Yes. Exports from the free tools carry a commercial licence for KDP, Etsy and your own shop. You may not resell or share the generator itself.
