Dear Friend,

If you've ever finished a puzzle book or a printable, uploaded it, checked your dashboard every day for a week… and watched nothing happen — please read this short letter all the way through.

Because there's a good chance the book wasn't the problem.

The niche was.

Here's what I mean. Most of us pick a niche with one of two questions: "Is it big?" or "Is it low-competition?"

Both sound smart. Both can walk you straight into a wall.

A big niche can be sewn up by listings with thousands of reviews that have sat at the top for years. And a "low-competition" niche is very often empty for the simplest reason there is: nobody's buying there. You only find out after the work is done.

There's a better first question. It's the one NicheSeeker was built to answer:

Is this niche letting new sellers in — right now?

You can answer it by hand. Search the keyword. Open each of the top 16 results, one at a time. Write down the sales rank, the publish date, the rating, the review count. Work out which ones are new and already selling. Look for a top seller that buyers are grumbling about. Then do it all again for the next keyword.

It works. It also eats an evening per keyword — which is exactly why almost nobody does it.

NicheSeeker does that legwork for you, on the page you're already looking at. Open the side panel and a small strip appears under every result. A score tells you how open the niche looks, and the reasons are written out in plain English. Two questions, answered. Usually in about the time it takes to read this paragraph twice.

Let me show you the three ideas it's built on.

1Idea one

The Empty Niche Trap.

"Low competition" sounds like an invitation. Often it's a warning sign. A niche is frequently empty because nobody is buying there — and you only find out after the book or printable is finished.

There's a more useful signal than "how many sellers are here": are new listings already ranking? When something launched in the last 90 days is already selling on page one, buyers in that niche are clearly willing to try someone new. That's a door that's open.

An empty niche can mean nobody buys. A niche where newcomers rank is a niche that's buying — and letting new sellers in.

NicheSeeker marks those listings for you with a green New & ranking badge on Amazon, and New shop ranking on Etsy when a shop with under 25 reviews sits in the top results.

Example labels under Amazon results
Example cover
Example: Dog Lovers Word Search, Large Print Paperback · launched 40 days ago BSR #22,742 · ~226 sales/mo est.
New & ranking
Example cover
Example: Puppy Word Find Puzzle Book Paperback · 4.8★ from 726 reviews · 5 years old BSR #78,172 · ~61 sales/mo est.
2Idea two

The Two-Question Check.

You don't need spreadsheets, a data background or an evening of research to judge a niche. You need honest answers to two questions:

  1. Are new listings ranking? Is anything recent already selling here?
  2. Is there a weak leader? Is a top result something buyers clearly aren't happy with?

Two yeses is a door worth walking through. Two noes tells you to move on before you've spent a weekend designing. NicheSeeker answers both on the page you're already looking at.

The Two-Question Check · example
Are new listings ranking?Launched in the last 90 days, already sellingYes
Is there a weak leader?A top-10 result buyers are not happy withYes
51
Open Door score, 0–100With the reasons in plain English, for example: "1 of the top 16 launched in the last 90 days and is already ranking."

Example values from the panel shown above.

3Idea three

The Weak Leader.

A bestseller with 3.6 stars looks like a wall. It's closer to an opening. Buyers keep buying it because it's what's there — and their reviews tell you they're not happy with it.

You don't need to beat the leader. You need to make the version buyers actually want.

NicheSeeker flags a Weak leader in amber when a top-10 result is rated under 4.0★ with 20 or more reviews, or has a thin low-content interior. On Etsy it flags a low-rated shop in the top results. Then you open it, read what buyers complain about, and make the better version.

Example labels under Amazon results
Example cover
Example: Dog Breeds Word Search for Adults Paperback · 3.6★ from 84 reviews · #4 on the page BSR #44,226 · ~119 sales/mo est.
Weak leader · low rating

Here's some of what you'll see the first time you open it:

  • Why "low competition" is often a warning sign — and the one signal that tells you more.
  • The 90-day test: is anything launched in the last three months already selling on page one? (If yes, buyers here try new sellers.)
  • How a 3.6-star bestseller can be a real opening on the page — and how NicheSeeker spots it for you.
  • An estimate of monthly sales under every Amazon result, worked out from its sales rank, so you can compare books at a glance. (Estimates, labelled "est." — Amazon doesn't publish sales.)
  • A 0–100 Open Door score with the reasons written out, so you know why a niche looks open or closed — not just a number.
  • On Etsy: which listings come from new shops that are already ranking, which are on sale, and whether a price sits above or below the niche's median.
  • A book page view with the sales rank, categories, estimated monthly sales and estimated royalty per copy, in one place.
  • One-tap filters for New & ranking and Weak leaders, so the interesting books jump out of the list.
  • A place to save the niches you checked in your account, so you can come back and compare.

See it work

One search, start to finish: "dog word search for adults".

A sample walkthrough of what the panel shows. It's an example of how the extension reads a page — not a result anyone got, and not a recommendation to publish in this niche.

  1. Search on Amazon.com as usual

Type "dog word search for adults" and open the results. Nothing happens until you ask.

  2. Open NicheSeeker

The side panel reads the top 16 organic results on that page and adds a small strip under each one: BSR and estimated monthly sales.

  3. Read the score and the reasons

In the sample above the Open Door score is 51, "the door is ajar": one of the top 16 launched in the last 90 days and is already ranking, and two top-10 leaders look weak (#4 is rated 3.6★).

  4. Answer the two questions

New listings ranking? Yes. Weak leader? Yes. Below that: median BSR of the top 10, estimated sales per month, average price and the number of results.

  5. Filter the list

Tap "New & ranking" or "Weak leaders" to see just those books, or change the sort order. Open any book for its own view: BSR, categories, estimated sales and estimated royalty per copy.

  6. Save it, or move on

Save the research to your dtlabs.app account (up to 20 with NicheSeeker) and check the next idea.

What's inside

Everything appears on the page you're already looking at.

On the page

A strip under every result

On Amazon: BSR and estimated monthly sales. On Etsy: price against the niche's median, sale and shop badges, and the shop's rating. Plus the badges that matter: New & ranking, New shop ranking and Weak leader.

Side panel

Open Door score and the Two-Question Check

A 0–100 score with plain-English reasons, the two questions answered, and the key numbers: median BSR of the top 10, estimated sales per month, average price and results. On Etsy: median price, how many are on sale, and the price spread.

Side panel

A list you can filter and sort

The top 16 results on the page, with quick filters for New & ranking, Weak leaders and Low-content, and a sort menu.

Open an Etsy listing to see the shop's sales, reviews and the listing date next to it, without leaving the page.

Your account

Save up to 20 researches

Keep the niches you checked in your dtlabs.app account and come back to them later, from any computer you sign in on.

Sales and royalty numbers are estimates worked out from public page data such as BSR. Amazon and Etsy don't publish exact sales; treat them as a guide, not a fact.

One marketplace is enough

Only on KDP? Only on Etsy? It works for either.

Plenty of sellers stick to one marketplace, and that's fine. NicheSeeker works on Amazon.com and on Etsy separately — you never need both for it to be useful.

  • KDP low- and medium-content publishers: puzzle books, journals, planners, coloring and activity books.
  • Etsy printable sellers: planners, worksheets, wall art, templates and other digital downloads.
  • Made for digital products — books and printables — so the only thing at stake is your time. NicheSeeker helps you spend it on a niche that's letting people in.

Reads only when you ask

  • Nothing runs in the background — NicheSeeker reads a page when you open the panel.
  • Extra page reads go out without your Amazon cookies whenever Amazon accepts that, and it never posts, buys or changes anything on your account.
  • If Amazon shows a robot check, it stops right there and tells you.
  • On Etsy it reads only the page you have open.

Now let me tell you what NicheSeeker won't do.

I'd rather you hear it from me now than find out after you buy. It's cheaper for both of us.

It does

  • Read the Amazon.com or Etsy page you have open and label the top results
  • Score how open a niche looks to new sellers, with the reasons
  • Show estimated sales, BSR, prices, ratings and listing age in one panel
  • Save up to 20 researches to your dtlabs.app account
  • Use it on up to 2 browsers (Agency: 5)
  • Work on Chrome, Edge and Brave on a computer

It doesn't

  • Make books, printables or listings for you
  • Know exact sales — Amazon and Etsy don't publish them, so figures are estimates
  • Promise that a niche will sell for you — it shows signals, you make the call
  • Run on phones or tablets, or install from the Chrome Web Store (yet)
  • Cover Amazon outside the US — that's the optional Global upgrade
  • Read more than the current page (top 16) — deeper reads are in the optional Pro upgrade

And because you'll need something to make once you've found an open door…

Your NicheSeeker purchase comes with a DT Labs account. That account opens our free apps — the same free plans anyone with a DT Labs account gets, and they're yours from the day you log in. I'm telling you that plainly because I'd rather you know exactly what they are:

So what does all this cost?

$11.95. Once. No monthly fee for NicheSeeker.

Why so little? Here's the honest reason. NicheSeeker on its own does the job this letter is about: it tells you whether a niche is letting new sellers in. Some sellers will want deeper reads, more countries, or reports for clients — those are optional upgrades you'll see after checkout, and you can say no to every one of them. We'd rather earn those than squeeze them into the price of the first step.

Here's everything that's waiting for you the minute you log in:

FAQ

Questions, including the limits.

What do I need to use NicheSeeker?

A computer with Chrome, Edge or Brave, and a DT Labs account (we create it at checkout). It doesn't run on phones or tablets.

Why isn't it in the Chrome Web Store?

Not yet. For now you download a ZIP from your dtlabs.app account and add it with "Load unpacked". It installs in about 2 minutes, with a step-by-step guide. Your browser may show a reminder about Developer mode; that's normal for extensions installed this way. Some work or school computers block it.

Is it safe for my Amazon or Etsy account?

NicheSeeker only reads pages when you ask, a few at a time. It reads extra pages without your Amazon cookies whenever Amazon accepts that; where Amazon insists on them (its European stores usually do), it reads those pages the way your browser would if you opened them yourself. If Amazon shows a robot check it stops immediately and tells you. On Etsy it reads only the page you have open. It doesn't post, buy, message or change anything on either site.

How accurate are the sales numbers?

They're estimates. Amazon and Etsy don't publish exact sales, so NicheSeeker estimates them from public page data such as BSR. Use them to compare listings and spot patterns, not as exact figures. Everything that's an estimate is labelled "est." in the extension.

Are the free apps really free?

Yes — they're the free plans every DT Labs account gets, and your NicheSeeker account is a DT Labs account. Puzzle and activity apps export one page and its answer page at a time; whole-book export is in paid plans. Apps with AI features run them on your own OpenRouter key.

I only sell on Etsy (or only on KDP). Is it still worth it?

Yes — it works on each marketplace on its own. You don't need to sell on both.

Does it tell me exactly what to publish?

No. It shows whether a niche looks open to new sellers and why. What you make, and how good it is, is up to you. A green signal is a reason to look closer, not a promise of sales.

Does it work on Amazon UK, Germany or other countries?

NicheSeeker covers Amazon.com and Etsy. Amazon UK, DE, FR, IT, ES, CA and AU are the optional Global upgrade, offered after checkout.

Is there a monthly fee?

Not for NicheSeeker. You pay $11.95 once. After checkout we also offer the optional DT Labs Membership ($27/month or $197/year, billed until you cancel), which opens every paid DT Labs app. You don't need it to use NicheSeeker.

What about refunds?

NicheSeeker is covered by our 30-day refund policy: email support@dtlabs.app within 30 days of purchase, or request it through your WarriorPlus purchase page.
